B44

Hey B44 owners. I am having some trouble with the spur. It is slightly out of round and setting the mesh is troublesome. I stripped it really bad yesterday and don't want to waste any more. Is there any secret to setting the mesh, are all the AE spurs goofy? I already have some spare spurs thankfully. I did hear that making sure the slipper is set right will save the spurs some abuse. I can hear my slipper slipping, so I don't know what to think.

Thanks!

Derek

  1. Derek -- I waited for the B44 guys, but they must be getting ready for the big Nitro race...?

AE spurs are (I believe) molded by Kimbrough, so they should be among the best made? I know on my LOSI stuff, if the slipper pads are not "seated" exactly right, they can make the spur wobble and cause gear mesh problems -- you might check to make sure everything is "just right"...?

  2. Thanks, I am going to take the spur out this weekend and check it out. It isn't wobbling side to side, just towards the pinion and away. Hopefully user error or a bad spur. It's a bad spur now anyways!

  3. I put the new spur on today and all is good. I checked the installation of the kit spur and it was fine. Just a bad spur. Can't wait to come out on the 17th and race!

  4. I put some new Proline Caliber tires on my B44. Can't wait to try them! I usually run bar codes and was looking for another option. Maybe I'll get to come around in May some to try them? I hope we have a group of dedicated racers in the summer. If not, I guess I'll head to St. Louis and get an 8th scale electric to race. I don't really want to though. I like 1/10th scale.
