Summer Racing

I know most racers head outdoors for nitro season, but I hope the dedicated "electrics" will still be racing at the barn during the summer. I guess without the outdoor track it might help the numbers on a weekly basis? Anyway, I hope to see everyone out to race this summer.

RC Pro Series 2010 Missouri Round 1 @ the RC Race Barn

WOW! The RC Pro Series Missouri State Round 1 event was a BIG one!
Check out the 'tent city' outside!
141 entries, 16 heats per round of qualfying (3 rounds were run), then 18 Mains (some 20 minutes, some at 30 minutes)... We started just after 10:00 AM Saturday and wrapped up about 1:00 AM Sunday. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves -- it's hard to balance keeping on schedule while trying to be fair to everyone, etc..

B44

Hey B44 owners. I am having some trouble with the spur. It is slightly out of round and setting the mesh is troublesome. I stripped it really bad yesterday and don't want to waste any more. Is there any secret to setting the mesh, are all the AE spurs goofy? I already have some spare spurs thankfully. I did hear that making sure the slipper is set right will save the spurs some abuse. I can hear my slipper slipping, so I don't know what to think.

Thanks!

Derek

BARNES, SMITH, FRITZ, JONES and ARMS Crowned Short Course Kings

BARNES, SMITH, FRITZ, JONES and ARMS Crowned Short Course Kings
Round two of Missouri’s Premiere R/C Short-Course Event is in the books. “GGB” Gorgeous Gordon Barnes (JConcepts/Boca Bearings)was on hand to defend his title as Short-Course King earned several months back at the inaugural Sho-Me Short Course Show Down.
Gordon has been on a tear lately and is rapidly becoming one of mid-Missouri’s best R/C racers. Barnes picked up the win in modified SC action over a hard charging Will Fritz (possibly 2009’s most improved driver) and the always tough Brad Cunningham. Stepping up to steal some of the thunder was B&L Hobbies’ Mark Smith. Mark now holds the Expert Stock SC crown as he Tq’d and cranked out a
dominating 18 lap A-main performance in front of Gordon Barnes, former SC King Mike Barnes, Cale Turner and Novelty Raceways’ Rex Franke. Mark also picked up the win in 4wd SC in a borrowed ride. Big day for Dalton Fritz as he Tq’d and won novice SC. Lance Jones was the winner in Sportsman stock SC and Steve Arms came home big with Tq and an A-Main win in Sportsman modified SC. Steve’s win should propel him to the next level.

Test Night on the Shortcourse Rematch Track

Very, very good racing last night at the Barn... A decent turnout to test the new track design, which seemed to work well. The oval has been temporarily eliminated and a new flowing layout was implemented with a clockwise path. The full length back straight has an assortment of small, but tricky jumps -- you don't get much air and you can "hammer down" for the full length of the straight, but the slightest error at those speeds and you are in for a nasty meeting with the wall or pipe -- get it right and you can really "haul"...

There are a few "choose" segments -- go wide, avoid some obstacles, stay on the line and catch extra jumps and bumps...

The track is great fun to race on -- challenging, but not "crazy", just that it can fool you and trip you up if you don't focus...

Hello--again!

Hope racing was good last night. I was too exhausted to make the trip. The wife and I had movie night instead. April is looking better for me to make it. I really want to race my new B44. I'm pissed I can't make the trip next week, but I have district band solo and ensemble. Anyway, I just wanted to see how this blog thing worked.
